Razor Sharp Teeth
We caught this guy yesterday, along with around 20 more ,also a lot of grouper and snapper the bigest grouper was around 30 lbs.I have had a house down here since 1970(Belize)The guy holding the fish is named Anthony, and has been working with me since then.Today we will be going out to catch some snapper.Thought some of you guys in the frozen north might like to see how the weather is in the carribbean.Ill be back in the USA in a couple of weeks.Best Regards Gary

Would Anthony mind being substituted? I'm looking for an excuse to get away from all the snow that we got

Nice one!
That reminds me of the one and only barracuda I have ever caught. It was a wee bit smaller than that but had some nasty looking, wicked sharp chompers. I actually thought he'd put up more of a fight, though I'm glad he didn't as we weren't using rods or reels- just the line in our bare hands.
It was in a canoe off shore of Kavieng, New Ireland in Papua New Guinea. The locals don't use rods or reels - just naked line held in both hands and wound about a plastic holder when not in use. Fishing starts with a quick trip to the hospital to get some free condoms which are used as lures. They look like little jelly fish in the water.
All in all pretty fun, but I was glad the cuda was the biggest haul I had that day. You can tell when a local has inadvertently hooked a decent sized shark by the missing skin/scars on their hands and forearms. I was less than confident about the whole enterprise as we headed out in the little canoe, but I didn't want to look like a wimpy girlyman in front of the locals.
Good times.
