Default Elm Burl Razor Display Case from Classic Shaving

Elm Burl Razor Display Case from Classic Shaving

I picked up my razor display case from Don a couple days ago. This is the display case that Will from Classic Shaving donated to the first annual SRP Ohio get together. Let me start by saying thank you to Will once again for the generous door prizes he donated for the event as well as making the trip for the get together. It was a pleasure to have dinner with you and speek with you.

The display case is made from Burl Elm with gloss black laquer trim and brass accents. It holds 10 razors on small gold hooks. The backing is magnetic. It will hold the razors upright in the display and even hold a blade open if you want to display them partially open. If you happen to have 7/8-8/8 blades, they get a little heavy for the magnet to hold fully open but they will still stay partially open. I also discovered that it is not well suited to magnetized blades. I have a couple of Morley razors that have magnetized blades. The razor blade pole and backing magnet must be of equal polarity. I put one in the display case, let go of it and it promptly did a summersault. Remember the science class in grade school, like polarities repel. It was interesting to see the razor flip over when I let go of it.

The fit and finish is very good and there is plenty of space for even the biggest of razors. A very nice case. I only wish it held more razors. I have already filled it.

P.S. the case is not hung crooked but the photo was taken off center to avoid flash reflection in the glass front.
