Thread: "The 11 Manliest Cocktails In The World"

From a site called "Holy Taco." The site doesn't tempt me as a hangout, because frankly most of the comments on the list were pretty stupid. But I thought a classy bunch such as us might enjoy it.

IMHO anything that looks like this does not belong on the manly cocktail list.

I can think of any number of more manly drinks than most on that list. the first few:

a. Bourbon/Scotch on the rocks
b. Brandy and Soda (easy enough to drink, manliness comes after half a dozen or so)
c. Dead Nazi (Ice cold shot of 1/2 Rumplemintz, 1/2 Jaegermeister.)

Oh, for sure, you'll never get a complete list or one that everyone will agree on. Myself, I like Manhattans and the classic martini, so I was gratified to see those included.

I think we can all agree that nothing whose name is "appletini," "chocotini," or "anythingelsebesides'mar'-tini" can ever be a manly drink.

P.S. Hey, I just noticed I'm a senior member! See, being older than dirt has its privileges.

Happy to see my favorite "Irish Car Bomb" made the list. Very few of the guys I hang out with will touch the "black stuff".

Most of those are absurd cocktails to be nominated for Manliest Cocktails in the World. Is the author a high school student?!

They have the rusty nail.. a classic... although too many bartender use too much drambuie, makes it too sweet...


I wonder why the #6, gin and juice, looks as clear as a 7up and yet contains orange juice... these oranges must have looked pale...

I used to mix that with Red Bull and call it a bloody nazi.
