Default What is your daily cigar?

I have gotten back into smoking cigars over the past few months but most of what I use to know is long gone. I have been experimenting with different brands/types to find what I like. As it stands now, I have a preference for maduro wrapper, larger ring size and shorter length like a Robusto or Toro. I have a box of 5Vegas Series ‘A’ on order along with a few other assortments.

My question at hand, what do you smoke on a regular basis? This can be an expensive habit, and I do appreciate the nuances of a good cigar, but that will drive me broke. So what is a good bang for the buck stick to augment the better smokes?

Another question, how many do you smoke a week? I am trying to keep my consumption down to just a couple a week, but on a nice day it is all I can do not to go outside, sit at the picnic table and enjoy a cigar for an hour or more, which in itself could get me in trouble. One of my coworkers is a long time cigar smoker so we tend to get into the stash and go out for a smoke together. More enjoyable that way, a little conversation on a gorgeous spring day while enjoying a nice full bodied cigar is a quick way to kill a lot of time.

OK, one last question. Who is you cigar vender of choice. I have been looking around and so far Cigars International.com looks to be a good deal.

I dunno if 5.75 is too much for a daily smoke or not (I usually stretch them out over two days), but my new found favorite is a Tabacalara Perdomo

The Estate Seleccion Vintage 1991 – the “Regente” Maduro.

It also fits into the general description of your preferred type of cigar!

    Happy shaving and smoking!

For cheaply priced quality cigars I like from Thompson's Flor de Oliva.
    I just ordered 25 for a little over $50. They're a nice smoke and
at priced right. Also, from JR Cigars I like the Genuine Counterfeit
Cuban line of cigars they have. Again, nice smokes and priced right.

I've been buying the majority of my smokes from Famous Smoke Shop. Some cigars that might fit your parameters are: Punch Punch Rothschild (maduro, double maduro, or oscuro), CAO Brazilia Piranha, Rocky Patel Factory Select Maduro. The CAOs are a bit over three bucks each if you shop around, the others are no more than two dollars each (box price).

I have had a couple of the CAO Brazils and they are pretty good, Padron 3000 is another I use to frequent and falls in that $3-4 a stick range. I will have to look up the Tabacalara Perdomo Maduro as well. I have seen the counterfeit cuban’s before as well. I will have to see if the local shop has them in singles and get a couple to try.

For those of you that nurse a stick over a couple of days, do you just snuff out the tip or do you clean cut it? I have honestly never nursed a stick beyond one sitting.

I gave up tobacco maybe six years ago, but still remember how much pleasure I got from "Old Fashioned #550's". These came from Mike's Cigars, and I see they still carry them. The 550's used to be seconds of Macanudo Hyde Parks, which I considered a good morning cigar. I did inhale so I wanted a milder smoke. I still maintain a stocked humidor at 70 /70 so if I ever decide to slip I'm ready.

I just let it burn out, and wrap a small piece of tin foil around the remaining body of the cigar. I smoke three per week tops; so, I enjoy day one of each smoke much more than day two, but day two is not a bad puff either.

BTW - I mis-stroked the price of the Perdomo . . they are 8.70, not 5.70! Try one though -- they are really good! (Somone needs to add a cigar smoker smilie!)

Order a box of King Edward Invincibles, not the Imperials. from J. R. Cigar.

Great smoke at a reasonable price.

Actually, I smoke pipe, but on weekends I like cigars with cognac.
Now I have a box of "La Aroma De Cuba", quite pleasant cigars.
