Thread: What is your daily cigar?

I just let it burn out, and wrap a small piece of tin foil around the remaining body of the cigar. I smoke three per week tops; so, I enjoy day one of each smoke much more than day two, but day two is not a bad puff either.
BTW - I mis-stroked the price of the Perdomo . . they are 8.70, not 5.70! Try one though -- they are really good! (Somone needs to add a cigar smoker smilie!)

Next month, the wife will see the payment and I will get a free divorce. At least I will have my cigars to keep me warm. Now I need a humidor for all of these. Anyone have an old one they want to donate to a newbie, or a nice one they want to trade for a custom scale job?
I am still working on getting a box of CAO L’Anniversaire Maduro Toro but that may have to wait for another couple of weeks. I have had a couple of these and really like them. I would like to try a real Cubin one day.Last edited by cannonfodder; 05-14-2008 at 03:52 AM.

Thanked: 4I smoke Fuente 8-5-8s and Hemingways. The 8-5-8s are only 5 bucks a piece, less if you buy a box and are one of the best cigars no made in cuba. The Hemingways are around 8-9 bucks but I think are the best non-cuban. The rest of the time I like Monte Cristo # 2s or a Hoyo de Monterray double corona.

For a cheaply priced humidor to to www.cheaphumidors.com
They have a nice selection fairly priced. I got one of the
defective ones and you could barely see the scratch, which
was on the back bottom corner.

I had seen them and looked at a couple. I actually have a standing bid on a nice one on fleebay so if that one falls through I may go with them.
I just got a box of CAO L'Anniversaire Maduro Toro. That should about fill a 100 cigar humidor and keep me in cigars for many months.

I tried nursing a large stick into two days, a Hoyo de Monterray. It was a very mild smoke yesterday. Half way through the monster I snipped it off just behind the burn and put it away. I had concerns that the flavor would spoil and that the heat would dry the cigar out and make it harsh the next day. I fired it up today. Did not care for it. The flavor had gone from mellow to harsh and acrid. The previous days smoke had dried the cigar out and the wrapper wanted to split and unravel. It was not a very pleasant smoke. I think I will keep to a full stick smoke and on days that are short on time I will stick to a shorty and save the big coronas for an evening.

Their "defective" is usually just minor scratches or color imperfections. Both humi's I bought from there are functionally sound and you would be hard pressed to find the "damage".
My daily is a Cusano 18 Paired Maduro "Toro" 6.5 x 46. Available many places online for around $80 for a box of, of course, 18. This cigar has mixed reviews, but since I started on the Cusano 18 Double Connecticut as a "cheaper" Macanudo, I have come to love these.
For the weekend or other special occasions I always keep a box of Padron 1964 Anniversario "Principes" 6.5 x 42. When you can find them, around $200 + for the box of 25. Many different sizes, I just like the smaller ones.
As for a donation, if it was not totally taken over with mold, I've got a small 50 or 75 count cherry box that I would happily pass on. Anyone know how to get rid of the mold? I've had it out in the sun, wiped it out several times and it keeps on coming back. Did not want to try bleach as was not sure what the long-term effects might be. Suggestions?

Thanked: 369A great value smoke I enjoy is the Don Tomas Maduro. Very tasty and only about $3.00 a stick.
If I want to go up a notch, Padron 2000 or La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7, to me, are top notch.

when i was just starting out with cigars my dad said the trick when restarting a cigar the next day or anytime after it was cold was to tap all the grey ash off and then light it while holding it in your hands.. do not draw on it or else it will be very nasty... once the tip is glowing then draw on it. there have only been a few cigars that this did not work for me on... but i still find that smoking one the right length for the time available is best.
Be just and fear not.
