Thread: What is your daily cigar?

I don't have a single daily smoke, but I smoke more Cuban petit corona and tres petit coronas. Some of my favorites are Bolivar PCs, Partagas Shorts, and San Cristobal El Principes. They work out to about $5/stick, so they're quite affordable and they always satisfy.

No Habanos smokers here? Once you go to the dark side, nothing else comes close. Like Partagas SD#4 or Monte #2's
Yummy!!!

I just sat outside and spent an hour+ enjoying one of my last remaining CAO L’Anniversaire Maduro Toro. I ordered a box of them yesterday to go along with all the others. That puts me at about 130 sticks in the mail. I am going to keep them in their original box and put a wet pack in there to keep them proper. UPS sais they will be delivered tomorrow.
If you put all your stick in one humidor, won’t they absorb the aroma of the other cigars? So if you put some nice aged Maduro in with some mild natural wrapper sticks, won’t the mild cigars get more pungent over time? Is it best to keep them separated and like styles in their own humidor to avoid cross contamination?
Another newbie question. What is the proper way to light a cigar? I have read several things in several locations. To date, my best smoke was from a cigar that I eased into lighting. Using a butane lighter, I slowly warmed the end until it ignited. I avoided actually touching flame to tip, gently rolling the cigar so the tip heated even. Then when a slight white ash was even across the tip I started the draw, after I put out the flame. That gave me a very mellow and well flavored smoke. When I have used matches I get a sharp, almost sulfur taste, same with a regular lighter. Is it just me, or is there something to this.
Ok, one last question. How many of you find cigarettes stinky? I like the aroma of a pipe or cigar but cigarettes are repulsive.

I've been smoking cigars for a while now and I find myself still enjoying a selection vs smoking one cigar consistently.
I pick a cigar simply based on my mood at that partiular minute in time.
Kinda strange, but that's how I roll.
Lately I have been enjoying the Por Larranaga Petite Corona. It's a great little smoke. Only problem with those from the isle is they only come in a cabinet. The Ramon Allones Specially Selected is a particular favorite of mine. Those darn things are like crack. About a year ago I scored a few boxes of the Romeo Y Julieta Cedros Deluxe #2 ... a very good smoke. Been hitting them hard lately. Also, a Monte #4 here and there ... Party Serie D's I have found to be better fresh. A good bang for the buck there.
For something domestic and every day, I've been smoking up the sungrown/maduro torpedos and the not-a-short-story from the link below. These are bundled smokes that are very reasonably priced. I've noticed these bundles taste much better after being in the humi about 6 months or so. They ship a little dry. Tasty little yard 'gars for the price.

These are really good smokes as well : http://www.dimeola.com/shop/index.cfm?task=8&sku=MRDRE&CatID=Cigars Not an every day smoke for me, really. These cigars have a very unique flavor profile which I find to be unusual, but tasty. Plus, the perfecto shape ... gotta love that.

Thanked: 2I like "LaGloria" 6x48. These are made in Miami by a Cuban exile. They can be purchased at www.DeweyAveSmokeShop.com as well as many, many other brands.

I have been fancying 5-Vegas ‘A’ series lately. Aged 4 years, Brazil maduro wrapper, mixed long leaf filler, box pressed and cedar wrapped. Darn good cigar and a good price. $85ish for a box of 20.

I like the Oliva O Maduro for a good reliable smoke, construction and flavor is consistently good on these.
Another one I've been enjoying often lately is the Taboo SFO, a house brand cigar from a damn good B&M/online vendor in Dallas.
Flor de Oliva would be my choice for an inexpensive stick.
