Who says the Americans can't eat real cheese? Who's to stop me, or anyone for that matter from making cheese from the milk of my goats, or the milk from my neighbors cow? No one, thats who! I'll share it with my neighbors while I'm at it!

You are right of course. I meant not being able to eat French cheese.

This is a bunch of crap. If I want to eat a cheese that has more than 67% moisture content I don't want anyone stopping me. I think the FDA should worry themselves with something more important than stopping me from getting delicious cheese.

I don't even know how the FDA regulates. Can the FDA ban the actual ingestion of French cheese? Or do they only ban its sale, and/or distribution, and/or importation, etc. Or do they (as Bruno suggests) actually ban the ability to eat French cheese?
This would probably mean banning the ability to eat anything at all, unless they plan on putting some sort of French cheese filter valve in the stomachs of every U.S. citizen. I guess I'll be sipping my FDA-approved dinner through a straw if they have their way

Thanked: 0Phew! I thought I lived in the only nanny state country in the world - comforting to know that Uncle Sam is looking out for you guys too. I mean, it's not like we're sane, reasoning, functioning adults now is it?
I'm glad my elected peers are looking out for me, Lord knows what kind of "silly" mistakes I might make without their constant, neverending, overbearing, mindnumbing, dumbass oversight...
Stiil, at least I'm still allowed French Cheese... for now!
