Default mcallen cask strength single malt

anyone know what a bottle of mcallen cask strength single malt should sell for in a liquor store? The prices on line are like 55 dollars a bottle. 750ML. That just doesn't seem right to me. I am pretty sure you should be able to get that bottle for less than 30 but I could be mistaken.

    Scuse me?

At 55 dollars a bottle, that is definitely not expensive for a bottle of cask strength single malt whisky.
There is no way you'll find it for much less. And remember that the dollar is cheap now, so that is another disadvantage for US buyers. 55 dollars is about 40 euros, and I would not think that expensive at all for such a bottle.

Less than 30$ would probably mean it was
    a) counterfeit
    b) stolen
    c) smuggled

Also, you'll have to add water to bring out the flavors, and to bring the alcohol % down, depending on how strong it is. So if it is 60%, and you'd like to drink it at 40 or 45, you'll have to add enough water that your 750 ml will end up being 1000 ml of whisky (not that I would add that much, but still...)

A bargain! The cheapest I've seen it in the UK is about $88 and we make the stuff!

Just google it and you come up with a few places that sell it online. The average price is about 55 dollars. I don't know much about liquor but could have swore I had seen this stuff for 30 dollars before. Apparently I am mistaken. I bought it once online for about 55 bucks, but figured I got ripped off or something. I guess I am off to the liquor store.

it's about 55$ out the door here, and i've had a lot of folks say that's cheap.

on the other hand.. it's the STRETCHINGEST booze you'll ever take to a football game.

    i've got a 2 oz flask and it'll do for a pass-around.

seriously. a tablespoon is an emphatic sip!
