Default Now This is a Cleaver What is a Cleaver!

I found this at a scrapyard. Actually it isn't a cleaver at all. It is a Foster Bros beef splitter. Before bandsaws were used in slaughter houses, these were used to convert a steer carcass into two sides of beef.

When you're holding an eight pound blade with a sixteen inch hanlde you know you can chop some meat.

I will be putting a new handle on it but it's not going to be what you would think. Of course I'll post pictures when it's finished.

I've seen one of them used, they cut through carcasses like nobody's business.

Do you hunt or anything? So you can use it.
