I have been considering various tatoos for a few years.. I would like to get flame sleeves, but I'm worried that's a little too much.. I'd have to wear long sleeves all the time at work and such. Plus my parents would probably disown me!
My 2 top choices are either family coat of arms, and/or some sort of cross (I'm a Christian and just think it would be cool to have a permanent physical reminder)

I live in Kentucky but travel to Virginia to get my ink. Typically, it costs $100 an hour, but because I'm very good friends with the owner/artist, I get amazing discounts. The last piece I had done took 9 hours straight with a few smoke breaks, and I paid $350. Besides, my girlfriend never objects to driving to Virginia to get ink b/c we always go to the beach first.
Another buddy of mine has about 70% or more of his body covered and said that the ribs were one of the most painful places he had done. He said the armpits and throat were pretty bad as well.

The Dragon on my back that I posted cost £150 and took 3 hours to complete. It is usually about £40 - £50 per hour over here, but it depends where you go and how good the artists are.

This is Idris, of whom I have been meaning to post a pic for ages. The weird thing is that I have never been able to take, or have taken, a clear picture of him. I have come to the conclusion that he is shy. I drew the design & the tattooist altered it a little on the legs
On the topic of price, he cost me £300 for 4 hours work in '95. That may sound steep, though he was inked by a fairly big name tattooist in London. Needless to say he is my favourite.
Then the rest of my left arm & chest

This is my Pegasus, which was my second tat and I had it when I was 22. I had this one because I love Greek Mythology (watched Clash Of The Titans when I was about 8 which got me into it).
I've always seen Horses as a symbol of freedom, so to me the Pegasus is the ultimate symbol of freedom. Sorry for the fuzziness!

I frequently use JimmyH-AD's quote:" When I am asked how many tattoos I have I always say one, it just isn't finished yet". It's so true. A close friend of mine is a tattoo artist-and alot of my work has been done by him.To this day,if I visit him at work and he's not with a client, I can usually put him to work.
For me its something I'll never regret. Every piece has its own significance. If you don't have any-just beware. Get one-you'll probably get more.

Here is the tree my girlfriend did for me. It is not finished yet, she is going to shade it all black and gray. This is my first tattoo, so I thought I would start small and work up from there. I will post pictures when it is finished!
