yeah, the hookah is definitely not for quick smokes, total time for one big bowl (2 coals) is well over an hour, but a lot of fun at a party.

Smoked nargila daily when I was in Iraq. I still have a bunch of Saudi and Iraqi tobaccos for it, haven't smoked it in over a year though. I bought a really nice one before I left Baghdad, with lots of gold leaf and stuff with an awesome case. I paid 80 bucks for it, which was about a weeks pay of an Iraqi soldier.

haha, no, but many of them do. you may smoke regular pipe tobacco in a hookah if it is more to your liking, but you are missing out. the point of the hookah (vs. the bong) is that you are using an external heat source (burning coal) to cook the shisha rather than setting it on fire. this allows you to enjoy highly flavored things that would not ordinarily be smokable in a pipe as they are much too soggy.

I personally prefer apple and/or rose flavors (the mix of the 2 is just great). You can also mix some mint flavor to it to get that freshy touch.

I still prefer this WAY over flavored cigars. Those are abominations.

When I lived in NYC, hookah parlors were all the rage on the Lower East Side. There were some great flavors of tobacco, and they were all delicious. I don't know if it was the heavy smoke, or the beers, or both, but I would wake up the following morning with a tongue like a cat's litterbox and a head to match.

I quit smoking cigarettes 2 weeks ago. Maybe for my 6 month anniversary I'll fire mine up again. I don't think I have any charcoal though.
