    Default Blasts From the Past

I thought it would be fun to start a thread about things remembered from childhood. Especially those things that are faint memories, almost forgotten, but then when fully remembered, and especially when seen again, are like a nostalgia tonic.

Two of mine would have to be the "Fizz Nic" (also called the "Astro Float") a thing from the 60's that was used to make an ice cream float from a bottle of 7-Up (or Bubble Up). For years I asked people my age if they remembered such a thing. I wasn't able to remember what it was called until just recently. Thanks to the internet I re-discovererd the fizz-nik and validated my memory. Absolutely no one I asked recalled any such a thing. For a while I was starting to think I had just imagined it. But I remember drinking soda and vanilla ice cream from one of these when I was a kid.

Here's a Wikipedia page devoted to the Fizz-nik

And the other is an old television show that ran for only one season in 1967, Mr. Terrific. Another one of those things that I barely remembered, but once I found it online it was like a jolt to my memory. I used to love watching this show when I was about 7 years old. Just could not remember what the show was called until I found it again on the web.

Here's an episode: Mr. Terrific - Stanley The Safecracker | Veoh Video Network
