Thread: Any Archers out there??

Built me some "adult" arras for my Qing bow.
Widowmaker 400 with 100 grain Black Eagle outsert epoxied into a 340 Beman ics bowhunter. 2 footings over the business end.
5.5" Nanners. 33.75" all up. I can only draw 32" due to having one shorter arm.

B/H is a 300 grain Tuffhead right hand s/b with 125 grain adapter. Total weight is 1190 grains. Brick wall tested with field point

Like the arrow. I know (or have heard at least) there are feral deer in Australia but do you hunt kangaroos down there also? What about feral pigs? There is an epidemic of them in Florida...to the point that on private property there is no age limit, bag limit, sex limit, size limit or seasonal limit. The only limit there was was that it had to be between dawn and dusk but now you can hunt at night with lights including spotlighting. You don't even need a hunting license EVEN IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF STATE.

In fact the state has people on payroll whose only jobs are catching and slaughtering feral pigs. Some areas of woodlands look like you ran a rototiller through it. A hunt club I belonged to was like that. On his game camera a friend of mine got pictures of herds that were too large to count...well over a hundred in one herd. There are people (neighborhoods mainly) that will pay you to get rid of the pigs

That sounds like fun.!
I've been wanting to get more use outta my 300 Win Mag., wouldn't be caught hunting pigs, with a bow, and no side arm.

My dad used to use a .22 for pigs. It's all about shot placement. That's true with everything really but the big difference with feral pigs is if you walk up on a sow that has a litter they will sometimes attack you. I don't know what it is about Florida.There are these crazy guys here that hunt feral pigs with a big knife. They use three dogs. Usually it's 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and one bulldog. The Ridgebacks will bay it up and then they release the bulldog that will go grab it by the nose and then the guy runs up and jabs it with a big knife. That's a high testosterone level hunt if you ask me. What I think is funny about it is they put these big vests like a bulletproof vest on the dogs but the guy doesn't have any protection. Whacky stuff. I have a ridge back but the only thing he hunts is a comfyer spot on the bed.


He's a big boy though. 30 1/2" at the withers and 120lbs

Man that looks like a hoot! Love to do that some time. You have to be a hell of a shot though. That's like shooting bison from the back of a moving train
