    We have one and i like it because it makes no noise. It takes about 2 hours to cut all our garden but i have no hurry. No worries for gas either. I sharpen the blades once a year and that is all care it needs.

    good point hoglahoo...its funny how we forget the old once we get used to the new even though sometimes the old is better or at least just as good. I think it often comes down to what is cheaper for the manufacturer to make not what is actually the better product. Like straight razors...cost more to make so people buy the cheaper alternative...
