Olives
I used to shudder at the thought of eating olives, but these last years, I became almost an addict.
I guess it was a matter of acquired taste... because now I find it even hard to pass the wide varieties of olives at the store... Flavoured with garlic, spices, peppers... I like them all!
And I'm not even talking about using them in recipes..
Hmmm lives

Olives are great and you can use them in all kinds of recipes. Olive bread is fantastic. Also as a plus olives are great for you. People who eat them live forever.

Phases.
I love oliveses. Especially the ones that come in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag from Lyon (I think; they are from the south, at any rate), France.

Definately one of the worlds most perfect foods...right up there with beer.
Kalmata olives on a good Greek salad
Oil cured olives in a tapanade
Minced green olives with lots of garlic, capers, and a touch of anchovie in a chicken picata.
Although I'll never give up my straights, I'd sooner lose them than good food.
Cheers,
Ed

OH BROTHER YES!
I LOVE 'em!
My favorites are:
Nicoise
kalamata
cerignola
any middle eastern variety
Brined in thyme, with lemon wedges, stuffed with blue cheese or almonds, I almost don't care how they are prepared! I love olives.
One winter, if it hadn't been for the olives in my martinis, I would have starved...

I agree! I looooove olives and all things related! When I was in CA recently I came across a store called We Olive. Everything olive related! It was like a dream come true. Needless to say I spent a lot of time in there for a couple days. Befriended the owner and even turned him onto straights! He was going to sign up here at SRP and even might have... Also, I visited an olive ranch and got a tour. Interesting stuff. Also got a bottle of the "vineyard's" limited press olive oil. It's great stuff. Very peppery!
