The races themselves areon public roads that have been closed for the weekend of the meeting, the night before the races start there is a free for all with a hundred an fifty or so vintage and classic bikes that rip around the Killalane course en mass for a few laps, having paid to a charity for the privilege there are all sorts going round mostly British and European classics, some few Harleys (which tend to be a bit younger) some old racing bikes with unbaffled straight through pipes that cant be ridden anymore other than at these events because of the noise. Then the Skerries run is the same idea but the course takes in the town (which doesn't form part of the race track). All in all its a great opportunity to see some beautiful old bikes from the twenties to the seventies break the speed limit on otherwise ordinary everyday roads. And for my Lambretta to mix it up with and surprise some far more powerful machines :)
