Probably between 80 and 90 MPH. LOL Sporty's ain't well known for being fast. Pretty quick, yes, fast, not really.

Ya want to turn money into noise and chase crap that fell off?
    Ride a knuckle head.

Try taking a 90CI shovel wide open till it goes lean and starts blowing fire out the carb and then try to figure out how fast you're going. I never did because I twisted the speedo gear off at the tranny on that run. Speedo quit at 130 on that bike and whatever it ended up at was WAY too damn fast for that piglet.
    Interesting..my sporty tops out at 200km/hr (124mph)

Gawd, fellas, I had a spate with a few Suzuki 750 2 stroke water-cooled triples back when. I did a buck-thirty and the tunnel was creepin in. Very uncomfortable. Never thought I would ever safely stop it.
I did. No problems! Never again!

If the talk is of speed, I did 260km/h once going across the Nullabor plains. That was one long, hot, boring ride. I didn't even know I had gotten up so fast until I got sick of peering through mirage haze and glanced at the speedo. Worse part of it was, I was travelling with a mate, who was on something a little slower than my GSX at the time. I had to wait in the heat under a bit of scrubby bush for half an hour before he finally caught up.

Anyone who thinks a sportster cannot go fast, or a Harley is just loud, hasnt ridden one lately.
Factory Harleys are quiet. Modified Harleys can be FAST.

I have had mine to 110 or 120, it was hard to tell with the fear/concetration and the vibration.

I have old Virago Xv750 1992 and will do quite enough to scare me. It will take me also below 5s to get to 60mph. Best part, does not like anything fast :-)
Second fun (collector piece) is my Virago Xv920 1982... this is fun, fun, fun -

Get us a pic of the 920! As I recall, the rear fender was swingarm mounted and it had a chain, unlike Viragos (that had a driveshaft), which was totaly enclosed. A European bike?

Since we're talking speed, I had a 98' Honda CBR 900RR I bought new, I had that up to 150 mph. Only did that once, and that was enough. I picked my spot between two corn fields that were cut and it had a nice straight away with a clear view. I wish I had that bike still...
