Occasionally I watch the MotoGP races on Youtube. Some of the riders have worn real-time heart rate monitors.
Much to my surprise, they can experience heart rates of 170 bpm! Did any of the 2022 IOM TT riders wear the BPM monitors?
For me, with a history of heart attacks, a heart rate that high would probably induce heart fibrillation and failure, so no racing for me!

I do enjoy riding my Harley (when it is not in the shop for repairs!) and my Honda VFR800. The VFR800 is well suited for the area and type of riding that I enjoy. Wooded, very hilly terrain with lots of curves and up and down the sides of the big hills. The area I ride in is Buffalo County Wisconsin. It is called the "driftless" area because the glaciers never went thru there resulting in the tops of the hills were never leveled off! The "Driftless" area encompasses many more counties that are south and I hope to explore them this summer.
Here is a link to a Google map of the county........

Not sure if they wear heart rate monitors whilst racing, I read that John Mcguiness once wore one and his heart rate was in the gentle aerobic range! And he's no young man to be competing at the highest level!

Although I commute on my bike rain or shine all year round going through the twisties in the hills is my favourite place to ride. Wisconsin Buffalo County looks like my idea of motorcycling heaven.
