The SRP Heavy Metal thread

I saw Ozzy at Ozzfest in Philly maybe 2 years ago. Man he was terrible. I used to be a huge fan but now it's depressing that he's still "making music". Zakk Wylde kept coming over to him in the middle of songs because he would forget the words and stop singing. It was bad man. Anyway, surprisingly when I was at that Ozzfest System of a Down was the BEST act I saw (saw a lot). Their presence and execution were amazing. They are pretty cool.

As for metal stuff, I used to be big into Iron maiden, Pantera, Danzig, Ozzy, Megadeth, Metallica, etc. Still am really. As for newer stuff, I don't really buy many albums, so I only know select stuff from artists, but I'm digging Dragonforce, Nonpoint, and In Flames among others. Surprisingly I'm liking some Slipknot stuff. I HATED them when they first came out. Their newer stuff seems more genuine. I dunno.

Really I'm into so many different styles and artists, metal is just a small part of my preferences.

Not really sure if it belongs in the heavy metal genre or just alternative but I'm really into primus at the moment. Anybody who can write a song in eleven gets my respect.
