Thanked: 13234Ahhhhhhh Sushi !!!!!!
Gotta be one of the finer things in life...
Now those of you that live in the city, that can get Sushi anytime, probably don't miss it like my wife and I do up here in "Podunk" Nth Idaho....
We had to go to Spokane WA yesterday for several reasons one of which was to have our postponed Anniversary dinner... We had decided that we would wait and get Sushi !!!!!!
When you only get to have it 2-3 times a year it takes on a whole new meaning ..... Needless to say it was an enjoyable time, to bad it is a 70 mile one way trip, as that means I don't get to enjoy a Japanese beer, or a Sake with it
The Salmon, Fatty Tuna, and Super White Tuna were exceptional yesterday...... and of course I had to have my favorite, Salmon Roe mmmmmmmmmm goooooooood !!!!!!!!

The fatty tuna & white tuna are definitely a real treat. Nowadays I skip straight to sashimi most of the time, skipping the rice from regular sushi. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself!

I'm partial to Tokyo Sushi. I've eaten at several, including Saii, Sushi Neko, and one in Edmond by the Home Depot on Broadway. It's where I had my first sushi experience, but the service is good and there's lots of Japanese fare on the menu.

I like Tokyo as well. I lived here almost 20 years and it has been there the whole time. Fuji is in Edmond. I like their food too. Maybe next time I'll go to Neko.

There is a Sushi place in Winston-Salem called Ishi's. They have Hawaiian Poke. I've never seen it outside Hawaii. Now that's a real treat.

I hear you big-time, Glen! Yep, we do pay a "sushi price" for our privacy, peace and quiet out in the country, don't we?
Last weekend I went on a mini-vacation to South Padre Island (AWESOME surfing in my playboat--for you non-kayakers, that's a short, stubby kayak made for doing tricks in whitewater.) They had THE BEST sushi place on that island--almost as good as the best place in Austin!
I literally ate it up...they had a Wasabi Roll with yellowtail, salmon and fatty tuna (inside out roll with wasabi in a fat line on top of it), they had fresh very white tuna, they even had a Yellowtail Cervice that was muy excellento (South Padre is about 23 miles north of Mexico.)
Love it! And that is one thing we lack out here in the Texas hill country...a good sushi place. I'm sure that's next. Bad thing is, it'll probably bring in even more new people crowding things up.
