    Default Ahhhhhhh Sushi !!!!!!

Gotta be one of the finer things in life...
Now those of you that live in the city, that can get Sushi anytime, probably don't miss it like my wife and I do up here in "Podunk" Nth Idaho....
We had to go to Spokane WA yesterday for several reasons one of which was to have our postponed Anniversary dinner... We had decided that we would wait and get Sushi !!!!!!
When you only get to have it 2-3 times a year it takes on a whole new meaning ..... Needless to say it was an enjoyable time, to bad it is a 70 mile one way trip, as that means I don't get to enjoy a Japanese beer, or a Sake with it

The Salmon, Fatty Tuna, and Super White Tuna were exceptional yesterday...... and of course I had to have my favorite, Salmon Roe mmmmmmmmmm goooooooood !!!!!!!!

The fatty tuna & white tuna are definitely a real treat. Nowadays I skip straight to sashimi most of the time, skipping the rice from regular sushi. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself!

I'm partial to Tokyo Sushi. I've eaten at several, including Saii, Sushi Neko, and one in Edmond by the Home Depot on Broadway. It's where I had my first sushi experience, but the service is good and there's lots of Japanese fare on the menu.

I like Tokyo as well. I lived here almost 20 years and it has been there the whole time. Fuji is in Edmond. I like their food too. Maybe next time I'll go to Neko.

There is a Sushi place in Winston-Salem called Ishi's. They have Hawaiian Poke. I've never seen it outside Hawaii. Now that's a real treat.

Someone would be hard pressed to beat the Sushi in San Francisco. I'm just sayin'.

Totally understand your longing Glen. When I travel to land locked locations, or places that just don't offer good Sushi, it's the first thing I desire when I get home.

Recently the wife and I have been going to a more pub style Sushi joint, otherwise known as Izakaya. The place rules, but I can't give you the name or someone might come after me...I've said too much already.

There is one one the fountain steps above Pike's St market in Seattle that we hit everytime we go there....
If I remember the one in SF was called the Sushi Boat that had the sushi sailing around the bar in a water tough but that was years ago....

There are about three different spots in SF that have boats moving the sushi around the sushi bar here in SF. I'm not a big fan. I think one is in fact called Sushi Boat. I'm totally against any sushi restaurant that premakes their sushi and it sits for any period of time. I believe it's something made to order. I also question any sushi bar that has 'all you can eat'. A frightening concept when it comes to sushi. You're safe with the immitation crab in something like a Califiornia Roll, but I wouldn't touch their Uni <g>
