Thanked: 150According to UPS.com my delivery should be waiting for me on the front porch. This should be a nice surprise.

Nice! After having to leave mine sitting on my back stairs for the better part of four days, mine have been kickin it in my humi. The CAO's look so nice, I'm quite curious about the El Mejor's, and I've been wanting to try a 5 Vegas A for some time.
It got too cold for me to smoke up in my lounge, but I found out there is a cigar bar about 2 miles away from my house. I'm planning on checking it out tomorrow afternoon... but what will I bring to smoke?

Thanked: 150I would take a 1666 and a Vegas A. I have really been looking forward to the 1666. I have heard great things, but I've never been willing to drop the $10+ per stick wanted by the retailers. I was looking at the catalog when i got home, and a box of 20 1666's costs $220, where has here, you could buy 5 of these deals for $250, and end up with another 80 sticks on top of it. I don't get how they make money on these.

Yea, I was just looking at prices per stick if bought in boxes of 20/25. They range from $10 for the 1666 to just over $2 for the El Mejors. I guess there are no boxes involved with the bundles (they come wrapped as a mazo), but still, it is an insane deal. I'm also baffled at how they can afford to give them away like this.

In a clear response to our conversation, CI has dropped mazos of 20 1666's to only $75 as their weekly deal. They must have been keeping an eye on us.
Congrats Doc; I was planning on checking out a local cigar bar I just heard about, so if I make it over, it'll be a smoke in your honor.
I'm tempted to try out cbid, but I think it would move me too far along the slippery slope to bankruptcy. As a result, I have stayed away.

Thanked: 150I've used it before, but it seems that the "bidding frenzy" get such that the prices end up above and beyond what you would pay at CI with their discounts. Maybe things will cool off with the cooling economy.
I noticed that too. So sad that we just bought 20 great cigars, and we are back on their site the day after receiving the sticks checking out what deals there are today.

I bid on some Romeo y Julieta Viejo’s at 20% under the normal selling price and it was accepted. They got delivered today, unfortunately I am in Philly until the end of next week so they will have to sit for now
