    Default Ahh...Hot Buttered Rum

Well it took two hrs to drive home and snow blow the driveway after our first winter storm of the year and I am now sitting down and relaxing over a hot buttered rum to warm me up. A good dose of Bacardi Select rum, butter, cloves, sugar and boiling water brings heaven a little closer after moving snow.

What's your favorite warm me up drink and how do you make it?

Easier than making tea. Through everything into a mug except the water. The only thing I measure is the sugar, same as I take in coffee. Everything else is by eye and feeling. 6-10 cloves, 1 - 2 tbls butter, lots of rum. Add boiling water to fill and stir. Enjoy.

BTW, Bacardi Select is great in coffee and tea also.

Great stuff. It got down to 55f here on sunday, so I spent a good part of the day sipping hot buttered rum.
I haven't tried making my own from scratch. I just pick up a tub of batter at the liquor store.
If anybody hasn't tried this, it's really good and you can buy batter at almost any liquor store. It's in with the mixers.

It snowed a bunch more since last night so.... back in heaven with another Buttered Rum. They don't seem the same when I'm not tired and cold from moving snow. More snow on the way. I can't wait!

Down to 55! Gee, did you have to bust up the furniture to stoke the stove! How did you ever make it?!
