Tweezers!
I just got a pair of these:
Tweezerman point tweezers.
Man, you could grab lint out of the naval of a fruit fly with these bad boys! I use them for the splinters I get in the wood shop.
Do you have a favorite pair of tweezers?

Thanked: 5Looks like the surgical tweezers we use in the lab. Although those come from FST and are probably slightly more expensive.

Sure do! I have a pair of Uncle Bill's Sliver Grippers that live on my keychain. Splinters, cleaning out under the nails, and they are great for getting ticks out of the dog. Especially those early season deer tick nymphs that are so rediculously small but carry Lyme disease.

I have a few pair of swiss tweezers (titanium) I use for watchmaking duties.

Thanked: 586This is a great tip! Up until now I have always rejected fruit flies that have lint in their navals. Now it may be more efficient to remove the lint and thereby have a perfectly servicable fruit fly. Um, one question, do you know if these tweeze ambidextrously or is it better to get the left handed model for a southpaw?

O_S, If you moisten your finger tip you can pick up those small washers.
