Looking good! We make our own too & our oven is 900mm wide, so we make them super big!

Looks amazing. I just made ziti pizza for my roomate and I the other night. Nothing like a good home-made pizza!

As I was eating it, it dawned on me that I should have taken pictures. My procedure is as follows:
Set the water to boil. Roll out the crust onto a cookie sheet (I use aluminum foil with a little veggie oil to avoid sticking. When the water reaches a boil, throw the crust in the oven and drop the ziti into the pot. It's hard to say how much ziti you should use, but it's better to have too much and eat the leftovers than not enough. When the ziti is cooked, strain and add sauce. Five minutes before the crust is done, pull it out, add a coat of sauce, one layer of ziti, and cheese. Throw her back in the oven for the last five minutes so the cheese can melt and the pasta crisps just a little. Cut and serve.
The key things are:
You want to leave at least a few minutes between when the pasta is done and when the crust has 5 mins left to allow the ziti to soak up the sauce. This will also allow you to have the ziti in the oven for a few mins to crisp up.
You really don't want to add too much ziti to the pizza. One time I used a one ziti high layer and the other time it was more like 2-3 ziti's high. More was nice, but it was impossible to eat (holding it up and getting it into my mouth).
I owe JoeD and CarrieM dinner, and I'm hoping to make this for them. If it goes over well, I'd be happy to make some for an upcoming (though no one knows it's coming yet) Rochester-ish-area get together.Last edited by holli4pirating; 02-23-2009 at 10:27 PM.
