Custom Baby Rattles!
As promised in another thread about the government's legalised theft, also known as customs, here is one of the finest things which I have seen in many a long year.
icedog very kindly crafted & sent this beautiful hand carved rattle for Squid. I am not sure from what wood it was carved or how it was engraved with her initials. I would make a guess & say it was pyrographed. What you can not tell from this picture is that it is hewn from a single piece. If the body is one piece, how the blazes did the ring get on there?
As ever I am in awe of Signore Icedog's craftsmanship & am sure that Squid will treasure this for many years. After she has gummed & chewed it for a few months first.
Thanks Brad. You are a gentleman, genius & generous beyond any expectation.

Brad my man, you have truly outdone yourself sir!
Both of us keep picking the rattle up and holding it, just because it feels so good. We will pass on the safety information you included in your letter to Nim, until she is old enough to read it for herself. You could have added "don't bop your parents on the head with it either"!
It will be a treasured toy and I intend to keep it safe for Nim for when she is older. I have the idea of a keepsake box for her, which will have the rattle and Nanna's hand made blankets and anything else we deem fit to keep.
A gorgeous gift from a beautiful soul. No amount of thank you's seem enough.

Thanked: 586I'm glad it arrived safely. Very frustrated however that the government felt they deserve a taste.
It is made of mahagony.

Brad that you would take your time and labor to do this for them speaks volumes of who you are as a person. It's the many people such as yourself that make SRP the best family in the world. We here at SRP are from all different places and all different walks of life, then along comes an act of kindness and caring like this to make us all come together.
