Thanked: 12Any Brewers out there?
What are your favorites? I do mead and have started playing with beers.

i brew beer. recently finished aging a nice dopplebock, it metered out at 9.5%abv before priming, and then aged in a cool place for 3 months. very tasty... and very strong.
i've also done stouts, ales, and i've tried lagering (although that was disastrous). i'm wanting to do an IPA next.
what kinds of stuff have you been brewing?
we should have a recipe sharing thread.

I make beer and wine and have done a few meads. I am more partial to beer and wine though. I have an English Pale Ale and an Octoberfest on tap. I am pretty happy with both. My brewing is better than my straight razor shaving (I have only been shaving with the straight for about a month now) but it is coming along. Two great hobbies. I just don't practice them at the same time!

Was a brewer for many years; meads only. Haven't thrown down a batch in probably 10 years.
But I tell you what: I just cracked open a 10 year old bottle and DAMN I did good work
I need to get back into it. I've still got all the equipment, including a 10 gallon steel stock pot.
Interested in trading recipes?

Thanked: 0I'm just getting back into brewing again, after some years away from it. Did a kit a couple of weeks ago, but I'm going to start full mashing again in the next few days. Have ended up splurging money, on account of my revived enthusiasm for beermaking: I'm going to pick up a cheap 2nd-hand beer engine tomorrow, to allow me to be Mein Host in Mein Own Home!

I used to brew often, usually stouts, porters, nut browns and meads (about seven years ago). This "new" job just leaves me no time for that undertaking.
