opinion on a new pen?
I am looking at this pen Monteverde Diva Lipstick Fountain Pen as a fountain pen alternative to my Fisher bullet. Does anyone have any experence with these? And would you all look down on me for using a pen named Diva Lipstick. I think the dark blue looks good and I can carry it in my hip pocket. People wouldn't have to know it was a girly pen.

I've never used one, and I can't say it's my style - maybe if they made one in black...
I don't know that I'd look down on you, but it might get a double-take, if you know what I mean.

Ah, OK, I looked at the pictures in the link, and I see why they call it Diva Lipstick. Well, as to that, nobody has to know.
I have no experience with this pen, but do think a bullet-style fountain pen is an intriguing idea.

I know nothing about that pen but its open-twist routine would drive me crazy.
I would pick a Pilot Vanishing Point instead. Oops, I already have one.

I have a Vanishing Point that I love, see Show and tell. I am looking for something for the days I don't have a good shirt pocket to clip it on. Something I can carry in my hip pocket. Something I don't have 125.00 in. I carry a Lamy to work because I work in a chemical plant and all personal items are subject to being deposited in a Hazmat drum if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't want to loose my VP.

Stick with a Lamy ALStar or something. I have tried bullet-style fountain pens (the Pilot Petit1) and although they are certainly clever, they are just not as good to write with.
Don't confuse novelty with quality. If you wanna test one out at a lower price, get some petit1's (about 2 bucks a piece) and see if you like them, they are the same size. I have big mitts and didn't care for the smallness.

I think for the money I will try the Pilot Petit1. It comes in blue black and appears to be eyedroper fillable. Are they avalible anywhere other than jet pens? Not that I care to try Jet I just always like to value shop. And I agree with the Lamy. I use my vista more than my Vanishing Point. I was just looking for a little more portable pen for the summer when I am less likely to have a shirt pocket.

they are actually not eyedropper fill, they use widemouth cartridges similar to a vanishing point but only half as long. in any event, the cartridge may be eyedropper filled. I have tried putting silicon grease on the threads and doing eyedropper fill, but the threads are too coarse for that and the pen will leak. (thank goodness it wasn't bulletproof ink or I would have ruined a shirt!)
I have not found them anywhere besides jet pens.
