    Was web surfing and came across these archived birthday broadcasts on WKCR. The host is Phil Schaap and I love to listen to his intros. My fav of those available is Louis but the other stuff is great too. Click on archives and then jazz and you will get there. Enjoy.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    That's great stuff, thanks! I can't wait to listen to more of it this weekend. If you like early jazz check out The Red Hot Jazz Archive; they have a lot of clips, bios and pictures (links at the bottom of the page). And this week's Riverwalk Jazz show sounds interesting, it's about a woman named 'Bricktop' Smith who, among other things, ran a jazz nightclub in Paris in the '30s. You can listen to the show on-line here - it's free but you have to sign up...
