Building a sailing boat
Hello...
Here's what I do with my father when I'm at home and have some spare time...
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...
That's the view from my front gate...
That's the look from the behind...
The cokpit (you can see my father there)...
That's the saloon with the kitchen (floor is still missing)...
That's the kitchen (stove is missing, along with the fridge door)...
That's my father (passage to the front cabin in the back)...
That's the closet in the passage...
That's the front cabin (bed is missing)...
That's the cupboard in the saloon (opposite to the kitchen)...
That's the freezer which will be under the bed/dinning place and tunnel that leads under the ****pit where engine will be installed... There's one on the kitchen side too...
It is made of plywood, all according to licensed Van de Stadt blueprints which my father bought in the 80's...
We hope that it will be "sail ready" for summer 2010...

Very nice. The pics made me think about Gibbs in NCIS
Must be a very interesting project.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

That's cool, & quality time with your father too. Now hold him down & get that razor over him!

I tried, but the Force is strong in him...
Seriously, last time he shaved was back in 1987., on his last day of army service...

It should be 27 ft 2 inch long, but it's a little bit longer...
Here's a picture of cupboard in captain's cabin...
My father is nuts about detail, so most of the doors on cupboards have seahorses or dolphins on them... Even the table has a large wind rose in the middle, along with some dolphins in the corners...
You can see that the kitchen and saloon are all in mahogany, captain's cabin is in oak...

Man that is great! The woodwork is looking good. if I ever have an abundence of time and money I would build a sail boat. I admire the designs of Fenwick Williams, especialy "Annie".
best of luck
