I wear a Citizen eco-drive powered by solar...

I'll post a picture later. I can't get one online.

"...and I'm not sure how I'd feel about owning too expensive black-faced watches. I think I'd want a bit of variety, you know?"

I happen to have a bunch of black dial watches but I know what you mean about variety. The Seamaster can be had with a few dial variations, blue, white etc. The watch hobby is a lot of fun, but can be really damaging to the old wallet. I'm in recovery from watch addiction at the present

yes. Though there are some inexpensive watches out there, in general razors seem like chickenfeed by comparison.

Speaking about the costs, are there any Tourbillon watch owners around?

Always a comedian in the group eh?

If I could afford one of those I'd buy this site.

Actually you can get a Chinese version for about 3 grand.

Are we talking about the same thing here?
I've seen Tourbillon watches for under a grand.
Granted, still many times more than what I spend on a watch, but not shocking compared to high end razors.

The cheapest ones I've seen are at least 3 grand and those are the Chinese versions. I've never seen one for a grand.

    Another Omega lover here.

If you don't mind a little story... my first watch was this blue faced Omega Constellation. I was in fourth grade, and our family could not afford to even buy any watch back then. I was a sacristan back then, and this was given to me by a kind monsignor I used to serve with. It was a gift from his parents upon his ordination as a priest. It did not leave my wrist up till it stopped working, well into my college years.

Fast forward 30 years... I took it out of its storage box last year and had Omega do a complete overhaul of the mechanism, buff the case and replace the glass and crown. It has a special place, not only for nostalgic reasons, but also as a reminder of human kindness.

The 2254.50 gets the most use out of my small rotation.

Cool Story. An Omega as a gift...hopefully I get to experience that some day. (Receiving, not giving).

Sorry for the crappy pic. I was too lazy to run down to the basement and snap a proper photo using the light box.

I have to admit I stopped wearing this one and only wrist watch several years ago and haven't worn any watch since. I feel like I'm living in my own little world by not wearing a watch, but it's liberating in some weird way.
