Well Gents I thought I'd try all this cigar business a little. I recently tried a Don Julian no 2 cigar..I have no idea if it's good or bad but I thought hey it ain't that bad.

One of my go-to's is the Sancho Panza Double Maduro. For a quicker smoke, Bolivar makes some nice little maduros.
I prefer mine smaller and darker, if you didn't figure that one out yet.
Of the ones you listed, prolly the R&J.

of the four you listed, i'd personally go with the romeo y julietta smokes. i've never had one from that house i didn't like.
partagas aren't a bad runner up, either.

The cigars you have picked out are all CUBAN sticks.
I've only tasted the Partagas MilleFleurs and was not too impressed with them.
Cubans, usually need a bit of age on them before they smoke as well as they should. Some sticks are recommended to rest in a humidor for at least 5 years.
That said.
DAVIDOFFs are tops in EVERYONEs list. I'm not aware of the bundles...BUT...we in USA are deprived of CUBAN CIGARS legally.
Please do let us know what you end up with.
Partagas shorts is one vitola that is said to be good as a new stick (without age on it)
My fav,,,if I have one is Saint Luis Rey Churchill
La Gloria Cubana Medaille Doro #1 lancero size
Tom
Added:
The Davidoff bundle I would get is the corona..A REALLY NICE SIZE FOR COMPLETE TASTING

Both Millefleurs you mention are excellent value for money imho.
Are you a cigarette smoker, or starting with cigars? I'm asking because cigarette smokers are accustomed to a somewhat harsh, biting smoke. Millefleurs would be an excellent upgrade.
New smokers however, I would advice a thicker and not too long cigar. Thicker because that means an even milder smoke, and shorter so as not to overdo on the nicotine ánd to prevent the bitter taste that occurs sooner with an unaccustomed fast smoke. Robusto or Short Churchill format is ideal. (See my earlier post today in a neighbouring thread for an inexpensive, but rewarding option.)
Just as one would advise a straight shaving novice to spend his bucks on a Wapi with a Norton dual, rather than on a beautiful 8/8'' Sheffield wedge with a vintage Escher, I wouldn't advise you to spend loads of cash on Cubans: Nicaraguans and Dominicans will give you plenty of pleasure for now - you can always upgrade.

For first smokes the Oliva and Partagas (non-Cuban) are really nice. In fact, I had an Oliva Serie G as a light smoke tonight. If you were in the States I'd recommend getting your cigars from Tampa Humidor for two reasons. First, they have a great selection of singles, and second shipping is free on singles. The reason I recommend singles is that you can try a variety of cigars to determine what you like without committing to a box or bundle. You can get lots of opinions on cigars, but it gets down to personal choice. Get an idea here on what cigars you find appealing, then buy one or two of them to see if you really like them.

Thanked: 369Search the web for cigar reviews like this one: Cigar Aficionado | Top 25 | 2008
Usually there are many top rated cigars for $5.00 and under. Just make a list and start trying them. Many retailers will give you a discount when you buy multiples. My tobacconist gives a 10% off for a box, or 20 of any combination. This way you can compare what you like with what others consider good cigars.
Happy puffing!

Agreed.
I've also had great luck with La Flor Dominica and Fuente y Fuente (especially if you can find/want to spring for an Opus X!).
That said, though, do you not have a shop nearby?
If you do it's always worth going in. usually the guys working at cigar shops are dying to talk about smokes and make suggestions. Plus they have the walk-in humidor, which more than likely is a million times better than any box you have in the house.
