Thanked: 10I picked up a single hose in Dearborn, Mi. a few years ago. Went into a Middle Eastern grocery and the manager spent about and hour helping me put one together with everything I would need. Really nice guy.
My gf can always tell while on the phone if i have the hookah fired up. She says I sound really relaxed.
My dad was so impressed (lifelong pipe smoker) that he ordered one for himself.

I absolutely love my hookah. I have a 3 hose and it can be a bit of a pain if your smoking with noobs or drunk people who keep forgetting to plug their end.
The funny thing about hookahs is that even people who never smoke will enjoy a drag ( that is my experience at least ).
Some interesting flavors I would suggest are coffee, rose and of course its always fun to mix and match.

Its funny seems that with every hobby there is some way to pimp out your gear.
I got a really nice bowl and screen set with a fold open top and it looks like i will be putting in some ball valves now.
I will try to post some pics of my rig soon.

I also recommend hooking your hookah up with a diffuser, it really makes all the difference

I hooked up some sort of gardening hose screen to the bottom made out of fine mesh. It works wonders-smooths out the smoke big time.
I've been experimenting with different kinds of coals lately-I've found that besides the shisha, the coal is the determining factor in whether a session is enjoyable or not. I try both quicklites and naturals, depending if i'm at home or on the road--any recommendations for good coals?

I've found that the style of coals is not as important as the placement. i break the coal into halves or quarters and put the lit pieces at the far edges of the bowl, rather than right in the center.
this keeps the shisha from scorching, and the hookah will run at a slightly lower temperature, leading to a smoother smoke.

I love hookah. I haven't been able to smoke it in a while since I just moved, but a really enjoy watermelon flavor shisha. I've only had occasion to use one type of coal, and it's the coconut coal. It takes a little longer to get lit, but once it's going, it stays going for a loooong time.
Come to think of it, I haven't had any kind of smoke in a while. No pipe, cigar, or hookah. I think I might have to rectify that situation shortly
