Foodies: BLT from scratch challenge
I figure this might appeal to at least a few of us:
Chef and cookbook author Michael Ruhlman just launched a summertime cookery challenge for his readers: Build a BLT sandwich from scratch.
From scratch means: You grow your tomato, you grow your lettuce, you cure your own bacon or pancetta, you bake your own bread (wild yeast preferred and gets higher marks but is not required), you make your own mayo. All other embellishments, creative interpretations of the BLT welcome.I think I need to pick up his Charcuterie book and see about curing some bacon...
Anyone else?

Sounds like tons of fun! Living in an apartment
downtown does not leave me equipped to under-
take this challenge, however.

Sounds great, I have my own version of the BLT that I've been working on for years...
BLT hold the L hold the T.... It's perfect
