Driving Simulators
Is anyone on here into driving simulators?
There is a new Need For Speed (supposed to be on the simulation side of the spectrum) and Dirt 2 coming out soon, so I picked up Dirt again. I played through the whole game on Amateur with no problem at all. I then looked around to see if there was any way to make the game more realistic. I grabbed an AiO editor to reduce the tire grip to 80% of normal, applied the DamagePlus mod, and set the brake strength down to 0% boost. These values are supposed to make the game handle much more like a simulator.
I restarted the career mode on Pro Am and just finished the bottom tier events. Let me tell you, that was some challenging work.
Driving with a Logitech Momo wheel (can't afford the G25); computer is running a Q6600 (up to 3.0 ghz), tweaked my 2 x 2 gigs of Patriot ram (5-5-5-12 at 400 MHz) and an XFX 8800GTX onto a Dell 2007FP.

yep. i usually run the gran turismo games on a ps2 (will buy a ps3 when the next one is out, just for that game)
I use the logitech driving force pro (gran turismo edition) it is fantastic, excellent force feedback, extremely precise. cost more than the ps2 did, though :-P

Thanked: 6Gran Turismo games are the most realistic as far as physics and dynamics for each specific vehicle are concerned. Forza Motorsports 2 on the Xbox 360 ranks a close second. If your going to go wheel and pedal, you have to have a Logitech set up for any reality at all.
