Default The finest things in my life............

The smell of horse sweat after a hard day working, and fresh turned earth under a cold Jan. sun.

The sound of a cold heavy hammer ringing and shaping hot steel.

The thought that the woman you love most in this world is in your arms.

The feel of smooth, soft leather on an old family bible.

The taste of a smooth hand rolled cig and a tumbler of Jack Daniels at the end of a hard day.

These are the finest things in a working southern boys life, especially when home is a place he sees once a year.

Can't speak to anything else on your list, but I do miss the smell of horses.I rode a horse patrol at work for 3 years and then bought and kept two others for a few years after. You gotta be a horse person to understand.BTW,Stetson aftershave reminds me of horses sometimes, you might want to try it if you haven't.

    To old timey preacher,
I guess some things are universal to us good old country boys, you are dead right about the smell of a sweaty horse, good leather, good whiskey, cigars, a wood stove, open fire, smell of a dirty gunrag, a good woman, especially after she has been baking, kookaburras calling in the evening, and the smell of new mown hay. Good on you mate, and a lovely set of photos of both your family and yourself. Who are you striking for?

    Cheers
