TC, are you talking about the pistols?

I'm going to a big gun show in Washington on Sunday looking for a new (to me) pistol. What advice do you guys have for buying used? I'm interested in a few models specifically, but open to a lot of others.

1911 style (don't have huge preference on manufacturer) in .45
.357 revolver (Taurus, S&W, Colt)
