Unrelated note, I took out some of my mouse fart loads for 9mm and ran through 100 draw then emergency reload drills from a new holster. I picked up the T Rex Arms Sidecar Appendix holster. I've been behind enemy lines in California for 3 months and haven't been able to get my unloading therapy in since January. Felt good to get out to the range and test some new kit kit while I was at it. Blew out the center of an IDPA target. I also picked up a ton of once fired brass, so now I have something to do for today.

Now, that having been said, I am looking forward to getting back to the range soon, hopefully this weekend. It has been far too long, and I'm especially looking forward to the P14 (favourite rifle), 1911 (love the THUNK), and SKS (just plain fun).

Now that I'm back in the free world, I went out to one of our local IDPA shoots. Felt good to get some practical shooting in. Placed 2nd in TAC (Our optics/weapon light division, not a sanctioned class) and 7th overall (5th if you take out the two guys who shot two classes each, coming in 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th respectively. Field was 19 shooters (21 with the two previously mentioned). I missed 1st in my division due to a miss on a threat, I'll pin that on astigmatism :shrug:. Since I shoot TAC already, I should probably have my slide milled for an RMR to help out.

Was at the range Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Needed a break yesterday and spent the entire day in my gun room cleaning, a little smithing and reloading. Retirement is wonderful but now need to get some more yard work done.

I probably shoot about once a year! In the city for the last six years so I can't shoot outside.

Oddly, after posting earlier i had a meeting with my boss. He told me he's recognised I've been pulling a lot of lates, and he understands that It's not easy for me to get home late.

So now I've to work from home once a week on a Thursday. That has a few goods. Firstly, I get to sit and eat with my kids, and secondly, that's range night �� so I'll be able to go basically every week.

Tonight I fitted a recover tactical grip and rail set to my 1911 as part of breathing life into it.

Tomorrow the wife is taking the kids to a party, so I think I'll empty the cabinet and do some cleaning and checking.

Also got my gun maintenance box in some kind of order tonight lol.

I used to shoot at least once a week.....those were the days when I was a much better shot! I can still shoot with "minute of bad guy" and I practice draws and dry fire often, but I need to shoot a lot more.

Still carry every day and where ever possible and legal.

Shot again on Friday trying to sort out some issues with a Nelson Conversion .22 on a Smith & Wesson E-Series SW191TA frame that I stripped and rebuilt with all Wilson Combat Bullet Proof parts. Has a very, very nice 2# trigger for bullseye shooting and I have eliminated any issues the frame could cause and it has come down to the chamber being too tight.

Four days at the range this week is a new record for me. Two days of fast steel and IDPA targets, one day of .45 bullseye and then Friday working on the .22 bullseye gun.

Pretty darn good week.

Shot on Thursday. Took the wife to a Dr Appt in the morning and went shooting that afternoon. Shot 50 rounds of Lee 200gr. SWC in the 1911 (.45) and 50 rounds of 115gr. 3118 clone in my S&W 1905 Hand Ejector (.32 S&W-L). Then on to the FR8 - 23 rounds of steel case/jacket Norinco ChinaSports .308 down range at the 50. Good day over all.
