Wow that is rough in the UK. Iowa you can sit through a class and don't ever touch a gun that's $50, then your permit is $60. Or you can take the class online and again never touch a gun. Then after that just conceal and go. Kinda crazy you never go through any fire arms safety here.

ejmolitor37, do you have to take a safety class to buy a firearms hunting license in Iowa?

In Missouri everyone born after 1967 (I think that is the year) has to take a hunters safety class before they can buy a firearms hunting permit.

To hunt you have to take hunter safety course if over 18 I believe you can do that online as well. So you don't touch a gun there either.
Younger than 18 and you go through a 3 day class iirc.
21 and over you get a permit to purchase and can buy guns and carry open. Or take the class mentioned in my last post to carry concealed. Pretty much you can never have touched a gun, go buy one take a online conceal class and be walking around with a gun. Not smart in my opinion.
We are a shall issue state which changed about 3 years ago I believe.
