Nothing quite like a good soak in an deep cast iron claw foot bath tub. A friend who collects antiques and restores antique houses just gave this to my father in law. What a gift! These things are awesome.

This tub was made in the USA by Standard on Apr. 5 of 1920, how cool.

When we picked it up, we found that the interior enamel is absolutely perfect. There was some rusting on the underside along with some aggressive pitting. So we got out the power tools with some nasty wire wheels and a belt sander and we smoothed things out and killed the rust.

Next, after a good degreasing and some drying time, I primed the tub...

then applied a coat of rust resistant white enamel paint.

Anyway, here are some pics... I didn't think to start documenting until after I primed it, but what the heck... you get the idea.
