My favorite music to me is the sound of my little girls laughter. My wife singing in the bathroom or while doing chores when she is not aware that I am listening. My oldest boys voice over the phone when he says "Hi daddy". My middle boy when he is telling a story about his day or says to his sister "I'll help you" when she is doing something a tad difficult for her.

Great music to me is a secret my heart knows, but which only gets revealed through the interwoven revelation of tones, notes, harmony and rhythm.

Music is a drug. To me it is a stimulant or a depressant that can get me to where I need to be. I have favorites from several genres that serve many purposes.

No other art form can coerce me into a relaxed state the way Mozart's 21st Piano Concerto does with a feeling of euphoria. Conversely, a recent favorite that could coerce me to drink Jack Daniels from the bottle and smoke two cigarettes at once is Elbow's "Grounds for Divorce". I love this track.

It's all about putting on what will get you where you need to be.

As micheal catton says in the movie The Castle,

"there is only one thing better than serenity and that is the sound of a two stroke on full noise"
