Thanks for the post. I LOVE rum. Right now I consistently buy Appleton's Estate bottle. I actually like it better than the reserve.

For that quick cheaper swig I will do Bacardi Select.

Ron Zacapa 15 and 23 are the two bottles I have open at the moment, they have their own character, the age difference makes a nice study in the effect of time in wood on rum.

I prefer whisky (Islay more than anything), but never say no to a good rum.Apart from the local rum (Arehucas), latest I tried was Diplomatico 12, very good but too sweet for my taste....(reminded me of Zacapa, actually)

I'm a a sctoch guy, myself (and a brandy/cognac FOOL), but I do like a nice sweet Rum now and again. If you haven't had it, the Ron Z. 23 year does lose some of that sickly sweetness. Next time you're in Connecticut (a bit north of New York City), I'll pour the first glass!

I accept, and please let me know if you happen to be in Gran Canaria, and I'll introduce you to the local goodies (rum & cigars, we keep women for us!)

Sounds good, I'll let you know! Cigars and rum....a match I truly love to explore....as for women, any trip over there will likely be with my wife, so I think your women are safe!

I had some Ciclon for a while and I really enjoyed it.

Ciclon is a mix of rum and tequila.

Although Johnny Walker Black is my poison of choice.
