    Default Head Hunter Recepe

To the best of my knowledge you won't find this in a bartender's manual. Here in New England there's a drink that is on the menu at Chinese Restaurants called the Head Hunter. It's kind of reminicent of a Pina' Colada but with emphisis on the fruit rather than the coconut cream.

First of all, this is the story of how I came to have this recipe?

I worked with a woman who's second job was as a bartender at local Chinese cuisine. I had wanted to know how to make a Head Hunter for some time but I didn't know if anyone would give it to me; however, having some rapor with this woman I decided to ask her for it—what do I have to loose I thought. She gave me the recipe and I was mixing my own (stronger) Head Hunters. About three years later I was temporarily living in PA and could not find my recipe so I decided to call the same Chinese diner. I explained to the bartender on hand my story - how I use to have the recipe but that I had misplaced it, and that as I have been from one US coast to the other and this drink seems to be indigenous only to New England, I was requesting the recipe once more. . . and wow, the bartender just gave it to me - no questions asked. I was sure it would be some secret.

That's the story. So for SRP here it is. Please tell me what you think if you try it.

    Recipe for One Head Hunter:

    1 Whisky Sour
    2 Pineapple Juice
    2 Cream of Coconut
2 to 4 Clear Spiced Rum
    Shake with crushed ice
    Serve in tall glass

Tip: Use single serving pineapple juice cans - you won't have to try to figure out what to do with all the excess juice.

Happy Hunting, don't get too sloshed —Jules

Whiskey sour is a drink unto itself. Why would they not just list it's ingredients rather than "1 whiskey sour"?

Better tip. Buy the big cans of pineapple juice. Make Teriyaki with the excess. Eat Teriyaki sauced things.

Headhunters are in Bartender's manuals, but the recipe is typically with beer/citrus instead of whiskey/citrus/syrup (whiskey sour)

I'm not much of a mixed drink fan. Vodka Martini is about as "fancy" as I get. Mostly Beer, Wine, vodka, whiskey. But I know several people who like HH's. At least one of whom also loves Whiskey Sours. I'll give him this recipe.
