Wassail Punch. What is it with you Americans calling a wassail a drink? It's almost wassail time (January) and we have six to do this year. It's an ancient ceremony of giving back some cider to the apple trees. It involves slices of toast, shotguns, music and lots of rough cider drinking! A few of us from my morris team get paid by villages to come and wassail their trees.

Wassail comes from old Enlish/Saxon and was originally Waes Hael - May thou be Hale - Good Health

So Wassail! (or where I come from in Wales - Iechyd Da!)

Doc, nice thread. May be, I'll do some of your drinks to my wife. I drink clean product, whiskey or rum.

Forgot to say, my favourite Christmas/Winter drink is the Whisky Mac, cooking Scotch and Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine (Stones ginger wine just doesn't do it!)

I understand the rough cider drinking, the music and the shotguns(typical Friday nite around here), but what the devil do you need two slices of toast for!?
