Here's a recipe I picked up 15 years ago. I'm making it this Christmas after a long hiatus and I thought I'd share. Keep it cool, as it melts pretty quickly:

1/2# sweetened butter
1 Cup sugar
3 Tablespoons water

Mix together and cook on high, stirring constantly
Cook to soft ball consistency
Pour into flat, shallow baking pan
Add chocolate chips and spread as they melt
Allow to cool. Cut in small pieces and eat it up.
