    Default Pen question

    Perhaps someone here can help.

My father passed away about a year ago. We weren't a family that had a lot of nice things (the luxuries my father would indulge in tended to be single malt scotches, not non-consumable objects). However, I remember my father having a really nice pen. When he passed away and my brother and I went through his apartment, the pen was nowhere to be found. It wasn't in his work place either. I was really hoping to find the pen.

Since then I find myself thinking more and more about it, looking in at pen shops and online. It's a touchstone I really wish I had.

I remember it being a Waterman and looking in the shops it seems that the Expert pen in smart blue is a match (did they have that model in the 80s?). I don't really have the money to put towards buying one new at the moment, but perhaps someone could point me in the direction of a place where I might be able to pick up one used. Ballpoint or rollerball preferred (I think his was a ballpoint, it was definitely not a fountain), but I'd also be happy with a fountain pen, even if I'd rarely use it.

It wouldn't exactly be his pen, but it would still remind me of his pen and of him.

    Thanks.
    -Dan

    Hi,

    Sorry for your father.
Have you checked internet auction sites? In eBay there seems to be few used Waterman Expert pens for sale. New Experts costs starting from about 20 pounds and up.
I've never had Waterman pens, but i've read from some pen related discussion forums that they are good and quality pens.

    Regards,
    Tomi
