Congratulations on the new wheels, Amund. I agree, the smell of a new car is impossible to beat!

You know, they have actually done research and found the smell we all associate with a new car and love is actually from the fumes given off by the adhesives and plastic and all that other stuff in the car and is actually harmful to your health.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket but those are the facts.

Nice car you have there. Enjoy it. Just keep the windows down when driving at first.

I hate the smell of new car, but I'd still love to have a new car. Congrats.

I heard the new car smell is so desired that car manufacturers add it via spray during to build.

    Gents,

I cannot recall where i gained this information, perhaps one of my courses in chemistry, but I recall that the new-car-smell that we enjoy so much is actually a series of chemicals, including Formaldehyde, a chemical used to embalm bodies before burial. Other chemicals include some alkyl benzenes and benzenes, both of which are rather carcinogenic. Hopefully my chemical background will enlighten some of you gents as to what that smell is, if you were previously mystified.

    Just so you know,

Do you know why men love women dressed in leather?

They smell like a brand new car.
