    Default DINNER TIME!!!

Yes, my friends... It's time for Dinner with Pseudo-chef Jeremy!

I have my girlfriend over tonight, no occasion, I just want to treat her and my mother to a nice meal. I've had steaks and strips of bacon marinating since yesterday, the bacon is marinating in maple syrup, the steak (NY Strip, from Walmart) is marinating in my own "bricolage Marinade" Which is different every time, but made using the same ingredients.. I think it is fantastic (The components are lots of honey, Montgomery Inn or Sweet Baby Ray's or Jack Daniels barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Lemon juice [as tenderizer], Garlic powder, a healthy splash of Italian dressing, and a few other odds and ends as I feel like it... This makes FANTASTIC marinade, and also a great dipping sauce for any meat [Just make it fresh for dipping, marinating raw meat, then using the marinade as dip is a bad idea, trust me ])

So, Bacon marinated in maple syrup, steak marinaded in the above-mentioned stuff. Also being made are sweet potato (Boiled, skinned, cut into chunks, and baked in a brown sugar sauce), Zataran's Yellow Rice, and an stew of ground up Hungarian Sausage, cabbage, diced (canned) tomatoes, and some spices.

Opening Course: Cabbage and Sausage stew.
    Followed By: Yellow Rice
Main Course: Fresh Grilled Steak wrapped in Maple Bacon, served with Sweet Sweet Potatoes drenched in honey butter.

    What do you think

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Dessert is the Redneck Special... Cool Whip mixed with Pistachio jello mix, loaded with marshmallow... It's surprisingly good..

Also there are carmelized onions for the steaks

Why thank you... I can ballpark the cup sizes and whatnot, if you wish, but it would just be estimates, mostly

I think it would be great that if you made the cabbage and sausage stew yourself to post the recipe!

But I also think I could wait until tomorrow........many a time I've done just what you're doing and hoped mom would leave right after dinner!

Eh, measurements are for amateurs. I'll work it out, even if you gave them to me, I'd eyeball it.
