What sort of music do ya'll listen to? I personaly have a deep appreciation of all music played on an accoustic instrument and play the fiddle myself, mostly old-time and bluegrass. I am also a huge Bob Wills fan. For those who would like to know the differance between a violin and a fiddle, the explanation is simple: A violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs

I guess I fall on the rock/ blues side of the fence! Currently in my rotation are Creed, Dream Theatre, Chickenfoot, Racer X and Arch Enemy, but I've also been listening to Joe Bonnamassa and Ten Years After.

Yea Arch Enemy! I saw them open for Iron Maiden in NYC a couple years ago - best concert ever.

I'm into metal/prog/classic rock/blues. Pretty much no country, no pop, and not really into electronica - unless it's the mellow stuff and it's just for background. On, and no Showtunes either.

Like a variety of music, but, my main diet is blues, blues/rock, having followed Clapton, Allman Bros., Beck, B.B., Guy, Green, etc., and their kind since a kid...lately adding Bonamassa, Trout. All of whom, (except Trout, Green), I've seen live and who are always a great show. If a person can, they should catch the Clapton's, Allman's, Beck's, Guy's and B.B. King's of the world, because, when they die or quit...it's going to be like Sinatra..a lot of people doing his thing, but, it isn't quite Sinatra.

Saw B.B. about a year ago...amazing show, especially for his years, now about 83/84 I think...WOW

English traditional dance music is my style. I play melodeon, mandolin, guitar and am learning fiddle. I also run an English Ceilidh band.

I spend most of my time telling the Great Unwashed that the tunes are English, not Irish!

Looking at my iTunes collection. It spans from Alternative/punk to Zydeco. Bob Wills is in there as is Milton Brown & a bunch more.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

I'm very catholic in my tastes. I happen to be a big fan of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys with Tommy Duncan and of Milton Brown. Waylon said It was Bob Wills but I ain't from Texas so Bill Monroe will always be the king for me. Flatt & Scruggs weren't too shabby and the Stanley Brothers were the bomb. Later when Carter passed and Ralph picked up the baton he achieved equal if not greater heights and is my favorite 5 string banjo player.

I might be listening to bluegrass one day or John Lee Hooker on another day, the Vee Jay stuff, or Charlie Parker, or Louie Armstrong's hot 5s and 7s. Depends on the day. Then there is Von Karajan or Furtwangler doing Beethoven or some Chopin. Lots of great music out there. .
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Default radio station: KEXP

I've been getting most of my new music from KEXP (kexp.org): The Features, Sunset Rubdown, Pleasant Grove, Okkervil River, Arctic Monkeys, Bitter:Sweet, Black Mountain, etc.

Used to listen to KPIG (kpig.com): Fred Eaglesmith, Bottle Rockets, J. J. Cale, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, ...

But I lived near San Francisco in the 80s and saw Metallica (with Cliff Burton), Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, Judas Priest, and way more than I can remember...

Music helps me get through my days.
