Thanked: 2"A boy named sue" is my favorite song of all time, it reminds me of the logic behind the way i was raised. My father was a hard man and expected his son to grow up to be a hard man, and i am greatfull for it. All of Johny Cash's music was great but his older stuff was better i think.

Thanked: 0I'm a big fan of Johnny Cash.
The later American Recordings were very good indeed.
Only this morning on my walk home from work I was listening to the album "The Man Comes Around". That particular track is amazing but then again so are "Hurt", "Personal Jesus", and "I Hung My Head".
The music of Johnny Cash appeals to all ages for numerous reasons. I guess he'll be most remembered for his San Quentin and Folsom Prison albums.

Thanked: 234I like a lot of his stuff. Curiously enough, I caught a bit of 'walk the line' last night, a great film telling the story of a great man.

Not three days ago I burned some best of Johnny Cash CDs for my adult children. From the earliest stuff to the last stuff. It is really an impressive body of work.

Jimmy, I have that t-shirt plus a giant poster still rolled up in a tube. It is around 48" x 36" I think. I don't want to get it out but he's one of my favorite old time country artists! I was searching for a thread Zak did on dying horn & came across this.
